I'm still alive!
May. 7th, 2012 07:56 amWell, hello there, few stubborn readers that still check if I write something substantial! Truth is, I haven't really done much of that in a while, huh? Nothing interesting could turn this journal into something that isn't the life of average Joe, I guess... So, here's the last two weeks of my life in text:
I've been gradually getting more and more tired again. Today's special, as DDO's Crystal Cove event is ending today, and I needed to finish one more item, I did four runs too many for a decent night's sleep. As a result, my head's light, but the rest of my corpse-to-be is pretty heavy. I've been playing a lot of DDO recently, and by a lot I mean I'm back to the level of before last Crystal Cove, for which I took a week off. Pretty much playing whenever I've got time for it, and obviously, sometimes when I shouldn't have time for it. That said, I'm still hoping some of my friends will check the game out, but it's probably in vain. The game itself requires a basic knowledge of D&D, which most people directly correlate to the nerds in mom's basement. This is an astutely wrong correlation, as most people playing this are actually even older than me and married, with their spouses playing as well. I swear if I ever find someone who's willing to do that I might just change for them!
Shampoo-wise, not much is happening, while I'm getting drowsy again, I refuse to work on a statue that's been gathering dust for half a year plus now, and I've been postponing my celwork until after I move. I did get another statue though, and it should arrive somewhere this month. It's really an exception on my otherwise pretty tight self-funding, which I've come to realize is about equal to my brother's, who works at a local supermarket. What's a diploma worth nowadays, huh?
Segwaying into my work-life: I've not yet gotten used to the fact that nothing substantial is happening right now, I've taken on a sub-project which might vanish during the next couple of months, along with some other advances I was pretty proud of. It's a decent way to waste time, I guess, but otherwise, I really wish people would finally stick their damn head out and make some decisions. On-site, we're being exposed to a ridiculous quasi-school project in which we are "being driven to become more customer-oriented". What's funny is that most people here don't even realize just exactly who their customers are. The reason I'm calling it quasi-school is because we actually have classes in which we are taught nothing at all, but tossed some silly nonsensical assignment straightaway, which doesn't just impede my (our!) working progress, but insults my intelligence AND my customer service attitude at the same time. This month's assignment: Thinking of the stations before and after me to eliminate the weakest link! This is very useful for the IT-branch! Except not really!
I quit watching Supernatural. Season 6 was just too incongruent for me to continue. With that out of the way, I'm not well into Season 2 of Star Trek TNG and I'm starting to see some episodes that I've seen before, on Dutch TV. This is very reminiscent and I'm generally having a good time. Also very nostalgic is the DVD of The Sword In The Stone, which I intend to get soon (I'm waiting for a good store offer), and have pre-downloaded and watched in Dutch. That's right! I'm watching a Dutch voice-over of something! I actually think the Dutch voice-over is better than the English original! What is happening to my world???
On the good-news side of the story I end with this: I've gotten used to my Shampoo shoes, mostly. This is a real breather for me as I didn't expect this to happen, ever, anymore. With the ending of Crystal Cove, I expect to get more sleep this week, which may lead me to finally finish my current statue. I've got two more (soon to be three) that I want to finish.
