I heartily enjoyed some of the entries in ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
wtf_sexism, now being spotlighted on the front page, and sincerely enjoyed actually reading the first few. While some of these points have merit, absolutely, I cannot help but giggle at the fact that 100% of the entries on the first page are actually on male sexism. While these two words are, in itself, sexist (oops!), I cannot help but see the irony in there. It's almost like there is no sexism towards males (if you still need proof, click the link again, you obviously read nothing there or are totally blind), and the worst part is these people are actually scouring the deepest pits of the x % of really, REALLY masculine assholes, willing to paint every guy off as a sexist. I actually feel bad about what some guys say slash do sometimes, but we're not all THAT bad.
And yes, I've had this discussion before, I'm probably guitly of (with the exception of this entry) MINOR sexism and, with two sexes among our already retarded race, sexism will never cease to be, because whenever I'm even distinguishing a male and a female, I'm already being sexist. Aaand now there's a big probability I might end up there as well and all the people there will claim I'm missing the point, but there's a much, much bigger point to be made: sexism goes both ways, and nothing is more sexist than actually claiming "That's sexist" (oops!), while not appreciating a half-decent joke, or trying to see through the irony.
Take 10 Reasons NOT to Date a Girl Gamer for example. This is one of the articles I've found on there, and yes, it compares the guy gamer with the girl gamer. But since I knew a (and more importantly KNOW another) girl gamer who (as far as I know, the first one might've been a Sim-killer, Iunno) fit in none of these categories, I consider this article nothing more than a joke. It is much less blood pressure rising and aggravating than starting a gender war over it. Besides, if they'd've done this with two guy gamers (because there are also gay gamer couples), or for the sake of political correctness, two girl gamers (oops!), the entry would've been just as sexist ("It just HAD to be two of the same sex, didn't it?"), not to mention the fact that you'll attract all gay bashers with an entry of the like, actually the biggest sexists of them all, because news flash: hating gay people just because they love someone of the same gender is the worst type of sexism out there.
Oh yeah, and I'm also sexist for liking an anime girl. But is that because she is a woman or because she's animated? Don't paint me off like that because I can see further than the animated skin, and you can't. If you want to blame someone for that, blame the animator, and find the biggest sexist, once again, in yourself.
Put that in your community and smoke it.
