Shampoo figurine, progress IV
Aug. 5th, 2005 08:49 pmWow... It's going real fast now. I hope to be finished by Sunday. I ordered another one, a bit smaller, but a bit more expensive, so I hope it'll be more fitting, otherwise I don't really care, Challenge level +1 XD It's a Shampoo in a red bikini, but I'm gonna change that last part to fit it to the one on my poster, a two-color-blue bikini. Will post a picture when I start it.
Back to the task at hand:

Hmm, the head turned out a lot better than I hoped, so that's ok. The glue line should be gone or hardly visible after a second layer, which I have to do anyway, as I have to remove the lot of yellow that spilt. Note to self: Only Revell paint, no more Hummel. Third layer covered good, and I hope it was the last one. I'll have to find out tomorrow, and if it worked. I'm puting on the second layer of hair color and work away the excess yellow like I said, otherwise, I'm still doing the glued line XD
The dress... Good choice of color, but again, that stupid Hummel yellow... I hope it covered well, otherwise, second layer tomorrow, if it did, I'm gonna have to do the dress red again, as I was kinda royal with the paint XP
I did the arm with PE as you can see. Gonna be done tomorrow, and it looks awesome. I think I can sand away the excess and paint it right tomorrow. Woo!
The legs... I'm not particularly happy about the way the body color dries. To fast, it leaves brush strokes. I hope a second layer can prevent that. I already tried it on a part of the legs and I just hope : D
Red! Pure 31 red on the shoes. I'm gonna have to do the underside of the loose shoe tomorrow. I couldn't do both sides at once, obviously. So sheerly out of beauty, I'm gonna do the other shoe's inside (not visible) tomorrow too, as I was shaking too much in the end. It kinda puts strain on your arms XP
I think I cut one of the hairpieces wrong, so I'll have to try and PE them straight. They don't match completely...
You might notice I put my four mixed paints in the picture... Pure bragging XD
TTDT:
- Eyes (brown and black of the lashes)
- Sanding the arms
- Painting the dress and arms (dress red or yellow, depending on the coverage and body color)
That's about it. Full assembly will start soon. Hopefully sunday evening. Man! Despite the fact I'm still feeling ill, I'm so very happy. Now I'll have to find a base to put 'er on : D
