A couple of things I noticed
Jun. 22nd, 2012 06:56 pmSo Microsoft is now forcing the new version of Live Messenger down our throat, and I am severely disappoint. I really liked the previous version, once I tweaked it a little bit, but the new version looks like shit and can hardly be considered a messenger service. It's mostly one giant commercial for the MSN network, and it ain't doing them good. I have uninstalled LM until Microsoft decides to reinclude the option to disable the browsing add-on and make direct messaging an option again. Until that time, I'm running Trillian, which I am now going to buy a permanent Pro account with once I get my next paycheck.
Speaking of money, I think I've got my finances in order once I move into my new apartment. This is a good thing, as I'm going to run into some extra costs that I didn't factor in, but this will make it easier to catch up. I was a bit worried that I hadn't received all bills from my constructor, but they apparently skipped one, and the next one isn't in yet either. I'll probably get to see the inside of the place (expect pictures!) right before the builders' holidays.
I also have a Wii now. Technically I could've gotten it the moment I bought my kitchen (over a year ago), but due to a miscommunication I missed out. I say missed out because it is fucking awesome. The Wii came bundled with Sports Resort, and I gotta admit, playing that (enthusiastically) for 4 hours straight leaves you with muscle aches. My brother is impressed as well, and we've gotten him a second controller, along with two gun mods and House of the Dead 2 & 3. I found Madworld on eBay two days ago, and I got it in the mail today. I got it because at the time of release, people were complaining it was too violent. I can now see why, but I must add, it's a comical kind of violence (as comical as bloody murder can get, anyway!), and the commentary is equally hilarious (and corny).
I got a really rare Shampoo wallscroll. I already had the poster (the one I want a copy of), and I'm not sure about the material (either paper or fabric), but I got it real cheap and I'm happy.
My lessons in C# are starting to kick in, and aside from some incomprehendable stuff, I'm starting to get the hang of it. I programmed some stuff in VB today, and while it felt great, I have to go into the weekend with some of it unfinished.
The weather is epic! It's not horribly humid or hot, except for yesterday when the absolute humidity of the air neared 100%. I shit you not, it was raining so bad. It was near 16 degrees this morning, and to be honest, it hasn't been hotter than 23 this week.
I have a bacterial infection on my heel. Or at least, I'm not sure if the wound is still infected (I got antibiotic ointment), but it's healing very slowly and I'm not thrilled with it.
This weekend I'm FINALLY going to actually have some time for myself, and if I am going to do it properly (i.e. not waste it on gaming, come on, self-restraint!), I'm gonna catch up with dishes, clean the place up properly (with the Wii on my desk, it looks horrid again!), and maybe get three more colors on my cel, thus bringing it very much near completion. Also maybe catch up on sleep, but that's secondary!
It was a good week!
