Interesting question. While my first thought was dragons (come on, they can be purple!), I did consider the Rakshasa, pictured as a near-cat. I'm still going to go with a benevolent purple dragon with glowing green eyes though. Definite honorary mention for the eternal grace of the phoenix.

And, not sure if goddesses count: Bast, goddess of cats. Shampoo owns her though. ♥
