I don't get people.
Feb. 1st, 2011 06:07 pmSeriously, I don't get my colleagues, my housemates (save my brother), my friends, or really anyone... I've beel bullied all my life. The only way it would end is when I'd finally lose self-control and punch people until I regain it. I'm not proud of it, but I'm not ashamed of it, either. It is a part of who I am. I do not want to lower myself to their level, but I can't take the verbal beating forever. And yes, I defend my friends when I have to, but what if one colleague (who is, or maybe was now, not sure) starts making fun of another, and insists I go over to her place and "show her a good time" (their words, not mine)? And when I refuse, I'm apparently gay for some guy I explicitly explained I hated. So after the joke's been made 10 times, I'm like "yeah, yeah, real funny, can we go on to another joke now?" Apparently that does not mean I want it to end, but they can just keep going, so after at least the 50th time, maybe nearer to the 100th time, I can't take it anymore. I step outside and perform a Ki-Ai. If one doesn't know what it is, Google it.
I come back to see everyone doing their regular routine, and at a specific point, one of the guys making that "joke" asked me what my problem is, and why I can't just tell him to stop. I tell him I have tried that, and a Ki-Ai has my preference over breaking their nose with my head, which, given time, will actually happen, and I don't want to. The one guy apologizes, but the one whom I really considered a friend goes on a vent and tells me if I do that, I can expect payback in time. I tell him he can try, but he'll just get it back. He then continues to explain that he's only doing this because he wants to "taunt me" (again, his words, not mine), and I should really seek some help.
REALLY?
He tries to taunt me into becoming agressive, and when I oblige, he tells me to get help? So after that he's like "Well, I guess we're done then", and he hasn't spoken to me yet, since. Even though he sits right behind me. That's how we work around there, apparently.
