My job is awesome
Jan. 8th, 2007 11:28 pmAnd it hasn't even started yet. Fo reals. The samples only arrive tomorrow. I should be asleep right now, but so many tings keep buzzing through my head right now.
Like why can I remember my dreams all of a sudden? A feature I haven't been having in a long time, long as in over 10 years!
Were my dreams always this fucked up? I mean, missing the alarm and waking at 8:30 is one thing, but missing the alarm and waking up at 20:30, in a different house, while it still looks TOTALLY GENUINE, is another.
I haven't had a real bad day yet, which is quite amazing. The people here are way more relaxed than my internship, which I can imagine, as these guys aren't facing having to move, though they've already done it before. Heck, most of the people there come from Zwolle. There used to be a GD right around the corner of my house. Talk about irony.
I work in a room lit by yellow light, because the wavelength of normal TL-Light would break up chemical bonds in substances that apparently have never even been analyzed in the first place. The yellow light is very soothing to my eyes though. Wonder if it has anything to do with the dreams...
My colleagues are fucked up. The right way. The way a scientist should be, would he want to be creative and successful. They're actually surprised I'm not freaked out. But I'll show them! ; P
The freezer that was supposed to arrive (more or less) last christmas arrived today. My samples can now be stored! Agilent forgot to note that we had a broken oven valve on one of the GC's, but they'll be around tomorrow. Harry (my semi-boss and the person who hired me) is thrilled because the guy who'll come around to look at it is an ex-colleague of a former job he used to do.
I'm kinda wondering about my future. I don't know which way it'll go. However, I kinda like this job hopping thing. Still, I'm concerned. I'll have to start making some real money soon. There's still some things I want to purchase of my pay, and there's debts I need to pay back. Also, I'm going to take over my insurance, finally, at the age of, like, almost 24.
I miss my spare time. I spent most of it gaming, like I do with the 2 hours I have left now. Also, I saw this awesome movie yesterday. Anchorman. Definitely worth seeing for comedy fans. Brick is awesome! XD
Sleepy time now. Long week ahead. They're going to test me, I am sure, but as I said, I'll show them. ; D
