Mixed feelings
May. 1st, 2006 08:46 amWell, I had my first hot shower in three days, which was... indescribable. Sleepage was awesome. I was completely out in five minutes and slept for 9 hours straight. I'm still kinda tired though, and I don't really think that feeling'll go down anytime soon.
No, I'm quite sure it's not mono, k? XD
Yesterday eve I figured I'd take one more run on the Powerball. I swear, I got addicted after like one time. So I wind up the starter cord, because I still can't start it on my knee yet... Give a yank... and launch the ball to the other side of my room, where it hits a wall, and being made of the crappy plastic you would expect for one measly Euro, it breaks. The cord slipped off the ball, because it's supposed to be wound around only once, but it's long enough to wind it around thrice. I wind it twice, and usually (which is to say, about 19 out of 20 go's) it starts brilliantly, only this time it slipped off the ball and got caught on the axle, tearing out the axle first and then, since it got locked around, just tore the ball right out of my hand.
Turns out the ring around the outer shell is made of rubber and removable, so that's good. The outer ring of the gyro was completely broken. The first axle lock was torn in three places, which I tried to glue, and I think it went well, so that's good. Also I fixed the crack I made when Mel broke it the first time, which is to say, it dropped about 75 centimeters and the axle shoved out of the socket, which I tried fixing in four different ways, one involving a screwdriver and a hammer, which broke the outer shell of the second axle. Turns out just hitting it against the floor a few times in the opposite direction fixed it. The most violent repair action worked, go figure...
Did I mention I hooked Mel to it too? It's brilliant, once you give it a try, you feel your muscles go hot and achey... Totally awesome. I hope I managed to fix it good. I'll only know in the evening, when I'm home again. Anyway, I'm gonna get the Green Haired Shampoo if it won't get more expensive than 20 Euro's, and re-paint her. It'd be a shame to see this one go unpainted. I'm not sure it'll work, but hell, I'm sure gonna keep you updated. Involuntary >; D
